IPL Points Table 2025: This hasn't been the year for the Yellow Army! Orange Army crushed CSK in a must-win game by 5 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the first time ever in the history of IPL.
The way Chennai Super Kings won the TATA IPL 2023, it seemed the CSK franchise is one of the best when it comes to scouting and developing the best out of young players, with experienced ones. But all it went south in the next, and even more in the current season. They didn't qualify for the top-4 last year, and they are almost out of the tournament this year as well.
CSK's match against SRH was nothing but a repeat of how they have performed in the season. Asked to bat first, they lost early wickets, but they had youngsters who went aggressive this time. Mhatre and Brevis added quick runs, and Hooda's struggling 22 runs in the death overs put CSK to 154.
It wasn't going to be an easy chase for SRH, and definitely not when they lost early wickets. Travishek didn't fire, and it was Ishan Kishan this time, who put forth a tough fight against Chennai. He added valuable 44 runs in the middle. Kamindu Mendis's invaluable 32 runs and Reddy's late aggression earned SRH their third win of the season by five wickets with 8 balls remaining.
This win slightly improved SRH's NRR and earned them two points. With these improvements, they have climbed up a rank and are now in the 8th spot. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are below them.
