LSG vs MI 2025: Another nail-biter! Lucknow Super Giants have registered an 12-run win over Mumbai Indians at Ekana Stadium in a thriller match. Despite a valiant effort from Hardik Pandya, Lucknow got a better team game and saw the result in their favor. 

Any target over 180 was never chased by any side on this ground but Mumbai Indians were really close to changing that. Had Tilak Verma found his rhythm on those 23 balls he played to score 25 runs, the result could have gone the other way. 

Taking nothing away from the exceptional team game of Lucknow. This side is batting heavy at the top, the middle order is a bit inexperienced but the bowling was a bit of concern. However, the spinner and pacers bowled in with a strong mindset and they got the results. 

LSG vs MI Match Summary

The skipper of the home team Rishabh Pant flipped the coin and Hardik made the right call. He asked LSG to bat first and also informed about the injured Rohit Sharma. Rishabh also made a change in his playing11 as Akashdeep was fit and active to bowl.

Marsh and Markram provided the perfect start to the Lucknow side with bat. Both added 69 runs in the batting powerplay where Marsh played the anchor role with his incredible 60 off 31 balls. Vignesh got Marsh after the powerplay and Pooran also couldn't do much damage today. 

Rishabh Pant's failure continued in the fourth match as well. Aiden Markram held one end and scored a crucial 53 from 38. Badoni played a decent innings of 30 runs and a late attack from David Miller helped Lucknow to go past the 200-run mark. Hardik Pandya got a fifer with the ball recording his best figures (4-0-36-5).

Mumbai's innings start was horrible as they lost both openers under 14 balls. However, Naman Dhir then took Akashdeep Singh for a 21-run over and provided the initial push to the chase. Just 4 runs away from his well-deserved half-century, Digvesh Rathee got his wicket. Digvesh was commendable with the ball as he gave just 21 runs in his four overs with one wicket to his name. 

Surya Kumar Yadav along with Tilak Verma carried the momentum up but the asking rate was just touching 12 in the last 4 overs. Tilak Verma was not in his full action increasing pressure on SKY and this resulted in Surya's wicket.

MI needed 29 runs from the last two overs and Shardul Thakur bowled an excellent over leaking just 7 runs. Interestingly, Tilak Verma retired out himself and Santner took the stance. Hardik Pandya smoked a SIX in the first ball of the final over but Avesh didn't make that mistake again. He conceded only 9 runs from the last over and LSG defeated MI by 12 runs in the 16th match of TATA IPL 2025.
