10 low-budget players who might face a significant rise in their price in the IPL 2025 mega auction

IPL 2024 saw many players who had a redeeming season for their franchise teams. From Abhishek Sharma’s breathtakingly aggressive opening batting alongside Head to Parag’s intense efforts in the middle order for the Royals, several players put in valiant efforts.

With the IPL mega auction approaching in the 2025 season, many teams have to release their very desired players; however, that might be advantageous for the players as they might find themselves in lucrative offers.

From the latest India debutants Abhishek and Parag to Aussies Travis Head and McGurk, let’s have a look at the topmost players who can draw attention in the mega-auction.

Travis Head: 6.80 crore

The Aussie veteran has been the star in World cricket. Since Finch’s retirement for Australia Head has been an all-format player, opening in white-ball cricket. Head since then has been unstoppable, as he led Australia to a World Cup triumph, a great display in the IPL 2024, and so in leagues around the world.

He was bought at a decent price of 6.80 crores, and his prices are surely going to rise by a huge amount even if SRH looks to acquire him using the RTM. Only if retained would the Aussie great see an undeserving amount.

Abhishek Sharma: 6.50 crore

One of the most talked-of talents in the last IPL. Scoring nearly 500 runs, Sharma was the highest six-hitter in the edition, and alongside Head, he formed the IPL’s most exciting opening pair.

Sharma, who was recently picked as a team India player, scored an international ton. The amazing talent might look to have higher price offers from teams across the IPL, just like his mentor had in the history of the IPL.

Jake Fraser-McGurk: 50 lakhs

Fraser-McGurk was a late inclusion for David Warner, and under Ponting’s final season, he helped establish the young Australian as one of the future stars of the IPL. The fearless and destructive opening batter will surely be seen to have higher rates once he enters the mega auction.

Rinku Singh: 55 lakhs

The KKR batter had his best of seasons playing for the side in 2023. Since then he has been picked at such a minimal price; however, this time with the likes of big guns retained by the defending champions, Rinku might have the chance of getting his prices high in the mega auction.

Riyan Parag: 3.80 crore

Not very less for just a 20-year-old, the Assam batter has had a year full of fortunes from domestic to IPL season. Parag was the Royals’ best batter alongside skipper Samson, and in case in the hunt to retain players like Buttler and Samson they sent Parag to the auction, he might have higher chances to increase his price.

Prabhsimran Singh: 60 lakhs

Singh has been a constant performer in the most underperforming side of the IPL, the Punjab Kings. Singh cannot be retained in the season, and he would love to get into the auction as any team would seem to be interested in the rising talent that would boost his rates from 60 lakhs to some staggering amount.

Shashank Singh: 20 lakhs

Shashank was PBKS’ most successful batter, as he played several innings that led to miraculous victories for the lagging side. A great bunch of shots and an intense strike rate during the death overs make him an ideal choice for teams. Not again a 20 lakh if he is sent to the auction, as the aggressive finisher would be much in demand, especially with such options lacking in Indian players.

NK Reddy: 20 lakhs

SRH’s late inclusion was one of their key players; the Indian all-rounder who has performed for India A was called for the Zimbabwe tour but missed it due to sustained injuries. Reddy replaced the likes of senior players Mayank, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram. And having proved his caliber, he will be on the radar for franchises as the probable Indian all-rounder options.

Tushar Deshpande 20 lakhs

CSK’s highest wicket-taker has been one of those young talents under veteran keeper Dhoni behind the stumps. With promising domestic seasons for Mumbai and IPL greatness for Chennai Super Kings, he is likely to be one of the Indian bowlers who will remain in high demand.

Tilak Verma: 1.74 Crores

Mumbai Indians’ 2nd highest run scorer, only behind Rohit, is the most promising player who has often been thought of to find a place in the Indian team. The left-handed Andhra batter can be handed a big sum to be included in the mega auction of IPL 2025. He is to see a significant increase even if Mumbai looks to restore his services through the RTM.
