Indian batter Virat Kohli has been one of the finest batters going around in the world cricket. The 34-year-old arguably has taken the cricketing world by storm ever since he made his debut for India. The batter has etched his name in almost every record book related to batting and it’s fair to say that words aren’t enough to describe his contribution to Indian cricket. 

The owner of the 75 international tons is still going strong and breaking numerous records along with way. Virat Kohli finally ended his century drought in Test cricket after more than three years. It wasn’t that the batter was out of form but he failed to convert the starts that he got. But the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad was the testimony of his grit, calibre as a batter and greatness. 

Kohli showed extreme patience and resilience as he took full advantage of the good batting conditions and gave his fans, what they were eagerly waiting for since the last 3 years. The right-hander played a staggering inning and brought up his 28th Test century and 75th in international cricket.

Despite being sick, Kohli crafted the innings brilliantly and put in the hard yards. He was left unfazed by the hot and humid conditions and he played his best Test knock against Australia. India’s No.4 ended up with 185 runs, which helped his side gain a strong position in the game and eventually draw the match.

The marathon knock of 185 runs in Ahmedabad won Virat Kohli the Man of the Match award. This reward wasn’t only for the innings he played but the 35-year-old broke couple of records as well. The batter also smashed 15 fours in his innings and registered his best scored against Australia in Tests.

With this Player of the Match, Kohli became the first Indian to win the award in Test, ODI & T20I against Australia. Not only this he also became the first player in cricket history to win 10 Player of the match awards in all formats.
