3 Indian Cricketer who might retire before 2024 Under coach Rahul Dravid.
Former Indian cricketer and former NCA chief Rahul Dravid took over as team India’s full time coaching role following the completion of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With a couple of World Cups lined ahead, the Indian cricket board wanted a strong face for the formidable Indian team and no one better than Rahul Dravid would have been suited for the role.
Dravid has been given a contract until the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is apparently scheduled in India.
India under Rahul Dravid has already won its first T20I series against New Zealand following two back to back wins in the opening two matches. The T20I series will be followed by two matches Test series against New Zealand.
During Dravid’s stint as India’s coach, several veteran Indian cricketers might fail to continue impressing and expressing themselves and hence might draw curtains to their international career. This very article will take you through the top 3 Indian cricketer who might retire before 2024 under Rahul Dravid.
3 Indian Cricketer who might retire before 2024 Under coach Rahul Dravid:
Ajinkya Rahane:
The longest format Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane hasn’t been in the best of his forms of late. In the recent past, he has played underwhelming cricket in the test format. He could only manage to score 109 runs from 4 Test matches against England in the recent India tour of England.
Rahane will be leading India in the upcoming 1st test match against New Zealand in Kanpur. Skipper Virat Kohli will be absent for the match and Rahane will be the stand-in skipper. He will have his chances to get back to his scoring form, but if he doesn’t we might see him getting dropped from the playing11 and eventually from the squad.

Umesh Yadav:
Premier speedster Umesh Yadav has been around team India’s red-ball setup for a long time. Though Yadav gets named in every test squad India fields, he finds it hard to get into the playing11.
He hasn’t been a part of the white-ball squad for a while now. He played his last ODI game in 2018 against West Indies and his last T20I match was in 2019 against Australia.
Surely with youngsters in the side and a couple of consistent Indian bowlers, Umesh Yadav is no more India’s first choice pacer to go with. He may end his cricketing career in the coming years showing his reluctance to prolong it.
Wriddhiman Saha:
Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is another Indian international cricketer who can draw curtains to his international career in the coming few years. Saha has been India’s one of the best wicketkeepers, however, his batting has not been outstanding, especially in overseas cricket.
The stumper is already 37-years old and the age factor will come and play its part on him. He has featured in 38 test matches and scored 1251 runs at an average of 29.09. In 9 ODI’s Saha played he has only managed to amass 41 runs.
Wriddhiman Saha is only active in Test cricket internationally and is not even India’s first-choice wicketkeeper.
We will see him in action during India vs New Zealand two matches test series as Rishabh Pant has been given rest by the BCCI.
