3 Players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of the IPL 2023

3 Players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of the IPL 2023: The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen turned out to be a memorable outing for the inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals (RR). Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan played their first-ever final match. Also, this was RR’s second final appearance after making one in 2008.

Though RR couldn’t get better of Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the IPL 2022, the franchise had several positives ahead of the next season. RR played a good brand of cricket throughout the season and occupied the second position in the points table. Also, they looked very balanced squad with all bases firing together.

However, ahead of the new season, every franchise gets the opportunity to rebuild its squad with some exchange of players. Rajasthan would also look to rejig their squad by releasing a few players and then trying to get their replacements.

In this article, we will take a look at the top 3 players Rajasthan Royals (RR) might release ahead of the IPL 2023.

Young all-rounder Riyan Parag once again sustained an ordinary season with the bat in the Indian Premier League. Despite getting immense backing from the franchise, Parag couldn’t produce match-winning efforts for Rajasthan Royals throughout the tournament.

The 20-years old cricketer could only score 183 runs in 17 innings of the Tata Indian Premier League 2022 for RR at an average of 16.64 and a dismal strike rate of 138.64.

The right-handed Assam batter got the support of his franchise throughout the tournament, however, Parag failed to repay the due. Notably, several cricket experts and fans have criticised him for his dreary performance in the cash-rich IPL.

Although releasing Riyan Parag from the squad won’t be a wise option, as he is still young and has the potential to become a potent death weapon, his poor consistency isn’t encouraging either. It will be interesting to see how Rajasthan Royals react to this issue.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) purchased the services of all-rounder James Neesham during the player auction 2022 by spending INR 1.5 crores. The kiwi all-rounder wasn’t a regular feature for RR in the playing xi.

Neesham got opportunities to perform in two matches for RR in the IPL 2022, but he couldn’t do justice to his role.

Rajasthan may release him ahead of the IPL 2023 auctions and try to pick a better substitute.

Navdeep Saini:

Not long ago, Navdeep Saini’s name was counted among India’s one of exciting talents, however, the time has taken a turn pretty quickly. After getting an axe from RCB, Saini was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the auction for INR 2.6 crores.

The right-arm pacer could only feature in two matches for RR in the IPL 2022. In the first match, he returned with figures of 2/36 in four overs, however, the second match turned out disastrous for him as he leaked 36 runs in just three overs.

With RR backing more of Obed McCoy, Trent Boult and Prisidh Krishna in the pace bowling department, it will be tough for Navdeep Saini to stay in the squad.

Rajasthan Royals might release him ahead of the IPL 2023 auctions.
