IPL Auction 2022: With the deadline of retaining players is approaching, the talks amongst netizens is on with their views on possible retention for each of eight existing franchises. The retention process of franchises will end by November 30th.
Franchises will try to form a core group for the team during the retention process only. A mix of experienced and young talent is considered as the best combination to form a nucleus which is apparently a tried and tested pattern for several years now.
Not many franchises opt to retain young uncapped players ahead of the massive auction, however, with the talent pool in India increasing on daily basis, the notion of several franchises have changed as they are, now, actively considering the retention of uncapped cricketers.
Not only the uncapped gives a much-needed balance to the team, but he can also turn into a future superstar who can serve the franchise for years to come.

Avesh Khan (Delhi Capitals):
Delhi Capitals (DC) young pace gun Avesh Khan is a bright option to worthwhile spend money during the retention process. Though, it seems highly unlikely as Delhi is reported to have already chalked out its four retentions — Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje and Axar Patel–, however, the final confirmation is yet to come.
The 24-years old pacer was quite brilliant in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He went past the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Rashid Khan to become the second-highest wicket-taker of the season with 24 scalps under his belt. His economy also remained under control (7.37) despite bowling some of the toughest overs.
He was extensively exposed to the death bowling by Rishabh Pant and more often than not he delivered more than what was expected.
Khan swung the ball both ways, was pretty good with his yorkers and possess a serious pace. On paper, he is more than qualified to be one of the best bowlers, but he is yet not finished product and needs more assistance from his seniors.

Ravi Bishnoi (Punjab Kings):
We must admit that Ravi Bishnoi hasn’t got the best of support from his IPL franchise, Punjab Kings. Surprisingly, he was benched for several matches during the IPL 2021 even though the team was in serious need of quality spinners.
Right after PBKS introduced him to a regular run, Bishnoi turned things into his favour to make his management understand the foolishness to rest him. He picked up 12 wickets from nine matches at an impressive economy of 6.34.
It would be quite harsh on the bowler if Punjab doesn’t retain him ahead of the IPL Auction 2022. Already, KL Rahul is looking to part ways with the Mohali based IPL Franchise and there are not many options left with Punjab for retention.
KS Bharat (Royal Challengers Bangalore):
Wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat will be another uncapped Indian cricketer who must be retained by his franchise. Bharat played eight matches for RCB during the IPL 2021 and scored 191 runs which include an unbeaten 78 runs innings to take RCB past victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) with a final ball six.
He is a good talent to invest in and has a lot to deliver for years to come. Furthermore, AB de Villiers has announced his retirement and RCB will require a wicketkeeper-batsman who can do the job for them. They can possibly consider Bharat to do that job for them.
As said earlier, none of these players is finished products and needs a lot of work to do. They will surely be a fine cricketer once some franchise start investing in them.
