6 Big Players who will not go to IPL 2022 Mega Auction, predicts Aakash Copra.
IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Now that the already existing eight Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have done their work to retain the best possible four players for the coming season of the IPL, the BCCI has now asked the two new IPL teams to pick three players outside of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The retention process of the two new teams will be completed by 25th December.
The cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has named 6 big Players who will not go to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Mega Auction as they will be picked up by any of the two new IPL franchises.
Chopra reckons that former Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul will not be available during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He is likely to be picked by Lucknow based IPL franchise.
“My first pick is KL Rahul. I feel he will not be able to reach the auction. Punjab Kings wanted to retain him but he didn’t want to. I think he is going to Lucknow and will become the captain of the new team. Rashid Khan is second in the pecking order. I don’t think his name will reach the auction table. He did not want to stay at SunRisers Hyderabad as he has been already approached by a new franchise with a better salary,” said Aakash Chopra.
Shreyas Iyer, who is not retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the recent player retention, is likely to be roped in by Ahmedabad based IPL franchise. He is a proven match-winner and an established leader of the side.

“My third pick is Shreyas Iyer. He is likely to become captain of the Ahmedabad franchise. He is an important player and will be drafted to a new team. I won’t be surprised to see him lead Ahmedabad as he has already captained Delhi Capitals.”
Furthermore, he picked the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan to be unavailable during the IPL mega auction.
“Yuzvendra Chahal is another player who might go to Ahmedabad. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya might not be a part of the auction, but Ishan Kishan’s stocks are a bit high at the moment,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
David Warner to remain unavailable at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction:
The renowned commentator also weighed on David Warner’s availability in the mega auction. He was recently sacked from his captaincy and was later removed from playing11 as well in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
“David Warner will not make it to the auction either. He is a proven match-winner. He has a lot of experience, has won a lot of games, and has scored 600 odds runs in so many seasons. You won’t find a more consistent player than him,” Chopra added.
