Rohit Sharma suffered a dislocation injury in his left thumb during Bangladesh vs India 2nd ODI in Chattogram.

Rohit Sharma, Kohli to be rested for Sri Lanka T20Is, Jadeja likely to return: Reports: In a more frustrating development for Rohit Sharma fans, the cricketer is likely to be rested for the upcoming home T20I series against Sri Lanka, which starts on January 3rd in Mumbai. Along with the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is also reported to get a breather for the 20-over series against the island nation.

India’s home white-ball series against Sri Lanka is slated to commence on January 3 with a three-match T20I series, which will be followed by as many matches in an ODI series. All the games will be held in different venues across India.

With a new national selection committee yet to be formed, for which fresh applicants have been invited, the BCCI has asked the previous selection committee led by Chetan Sharma to pick a white-ball squad for the upcoming home T20Is and ODIs.

As per the reports, the Indian cricket board doesn’t want to rush Rohit Sharma to play games before he nurses his injury completely. According to Cricbuzz, Rohit will be kept out of the Indian setup for a little longer to thoroughly recuperate from the finger dislocation injury, which was suffered during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh.

In the absence of skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the T20Is.

Virat Kohli is also expected to be out of T20I action as the cricketer has asked for a short break. Kohli and Rohit will be seen taking part in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting January 10 in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is expected to make his comeback in the Sri Lanka series. The all-rounder suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the T20 World Cup 2022 and the subsequent bilateral series.

However, the reports suggest that Jadeja is completely fit to return to the national squad for the upcoming limited-over series against Sri Lanka.
