India vs New Zealand: India defeated New Zealand by a commanding count of 3-0 to claim the Mastercard ODI trophy. Rohit Sharma became the first Indian skipper to sweep both the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand. With the 3-0 series victory, India surpassed New Zealand to take the top spot of the ICC ODI rankings, matching the top spot in T20Is.
Following the conclusion of the ODI series on January 24, India will play New Zealand in a three-match T20I series beginning on January 27 (Friday) at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Both teams will then travel to Lucknow for the second T20I, slated to be played on January 29 (Sunday) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. On February 1 (Wednesday), the series’ final game will take place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Hardik Pandya has been announced as the Indian captain again for this format of the game. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli are being rested for the T20I series. After a long wait and a lot of hard work, Prithvi Shaw got a callback for the national team in the T20I format.
