ICC WTC Points Table (Updated) after Ind vs Aus 3rd test and India’s Qualification Scenario to reach ICC WTC final

ICC WTC Points Table (Updated) after Ind vs Aus 3rd test: A famous saying, “He who digs a pit for others may fall in himself” fits in the situation after the 3rd test between India and Australia. India laid a spinning surface in Indore like the first two tests to trap the Aussies similarly, but the plan backfired and the hard work by the visitors finally paid back. With this 9-wicket win, Australia are through to the finals of ICC WTC 2021-23 cycle.

ICC WTC: India’s Qualification Scenario

Since Sri Lanka is the only other side still in the running for the final match in June at the Oval in England, India must win its final game in the series to advance without relying on Sri Lanka’s performance.

Rohit Sharma’s team will be able to end with a PCT of 62.5 if they win in Ahmedabad. That will be enough to prevent Sri Lanka from posing any sort of danger. On its upcoming March 9 trip to New Zealand, Sri Lanka can push itself to the best-possible PCT of 61.11.

The best possible finish for India is to beat Australia 3-1, finishing with 135 points and a PCT of 62.5. The worst possible finish for India is to draw the series 2-2, finish with 123 points and a PCT of 56.94.
