Here is a quick look at the updated points table of the TATA IPL 2023. We also have the updated list of orange cap and purple cap contenders.

The TATA IPL 2023 is underway in an amazing fashion. The Chennai Super Kings VS Lucknow Super Giants game was a high-scoring thriller. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, and Kyle Mayers were staring with the bat. The most entertaining was Moeen Ali’s dream spell that took the wickets of the top 3 batters of Lucknow. The Super Giants were cruising to a victory before Moeen rattled their party with 3 wickets. With, there have been big shifts and new entrants in the purple cap and orange cap tables. Also, Rajasthan Royals have now moved to the top of the points table of TATA IPL 2023:

Updated Orange Cap Table of TATA IPL 2023:

Kyle Mayers TATA IPL 2023
Kyle Mayers is the latest Caribbean sensation to burst onto the scene in the TATA IPL. He has the second most runs so far. IMG SRC: LSG.
Position Player Name Runs Scored Team Matches Played
Ruturaj Gaikwad 149 Chennai Super Kings
Kyle Mayers  126 Lucknow Super Giants
Tilak Varma 84 Mumbai Indians
Virat Kohli 82 Royal Challengers Bangalore
Faf Du Plessis 73 Royal Challengers Bangalore
Nicholas Pooran 68 Delhi Capitals

Ruturaj Gaikwad has shown signs of the IPL 2021 season. He is looking set to grab the orange cap. His game is not the one from TATA IPL 2022 where he held back. He has chosen a more attacking approach in TATA IPL 2023. He goes behind the bowlers from ball 1. With Devon Conway, a more technical batter to his aid, he has the safety net in case he fails. In the game against the Super Giants, his drives were classic. He played the attacking game but in a technical manner. He timed the ball well and pushed it into the gaps.

Updated Purple Cap Table After CSK VS LSG:

Position Player Name Wickets Taken Team Matches Played
Mark Wood Lucknow Super Giants
Ravi Bishnoi Lucknow Super Giants
Yuzvendra Chahal Rajasthan Royals
Moeen Ali Chennai Super Kings
Arshdeep Singh Punjab Kings
Rajvardhan Hagargekar Chennai Super Kings
Avesh Khan Lucknow Super Giants
Mark Wood TATA IPL 2023
It was a pitty that Mark Wood missed out on the IPL last season. Ever singing joining LSG, he has had an immediate impact. IMG SRC: ECB

Mark Wood currently leads the wicket-takers list. He was not a part of the TATA IPL 2022 as he was out due to an injury. With that being said, his addition to the Lucknow Super Giants is invaluable. He bowls the crucial overs. He bowls a few in the powerplay and the others in the middle. His express pace is tough to deal with. Wood is not the typical variation bowler with slower balls and cutters, he is more of an enforcer bowler. He scares the batters with sheer pace. He has currently scalped 8 wickets in TATA IPL 2023. His 5-wicket haul against the Delhi Capitals in TATA IPL 2023 was just too good.

Fair Play Award of TATA IPL 2023:
