Ashes 2023: Brendon McCullum Said England would play Attacking Brand of Cricket in the ashes series

Ashes 2023: Brendon McCullum Said England would play Attacking Brand of Cricket in the ashes series: As per England’s Head Coach Brendon McCullum, In The ICC Review, said they would continue its attacking approach this English Summer.

England is playing four days test match against Ireland at Lord’s Cricket Ground. After this, they will play the highly anticipated series against Australia, The Ashes 2023, which is scheduled from June 16th to July 31st. Australia and England will be playing five Test matches in this series at different venues.

This five-match series against one of the oldest rivals comes after 17 months after a demeaning 4-0 defeat. This led the English side to change their way of playing test cricket and now in ‘BazBall’ way.

After the tremendous defeat against many teams, England tried to adopt white-ball dominance of an ultra-aggressive brand of cricket in test cricket. England Cricket team, under the guidance of McCullum, with Ben Stokes as Captain, won 10 test matches out of 12 games.

Brendon McCullum on England’s New Approach in Test Cricket:

England Test coach Brendon McCullum said, “We will continue to play with the same approach in the Ashes 2023 and in English summer as we have been playing since last year.”

McCullum said, “Our Players must continue to play with the same style which has worked for them for few months. Boys will follow the same in the test match against Ireland and The Ashes 2023.”

“When more things are at stake, Then it’s important to keep things simpler and relaxed to do what gives you maximum results,” McCullum said.

“I think we have the quality in our team and Players; they have got the quality to play a heavyweight contest, so I’m excited about this and how things will move on.”.

England’s batters are playing test cricket at a higher run rate, about five an over. The Team has improved their game in abetting and bowling as they are now regularly taking 20 wickets. This shows the change in the brand of cricket led England to such remarkable results.

Some Injury Concern for England ahead of the Ashes 2023:

Josh Tongue has made his Test debut after being added to England’s playing 11 for the four-day Test against Ireland, whereas James Anderson and Ollie Robinson are not in the squad due to injury and will recover soon to get ready for the Ashes.

Jofra Archer has been struggling with his injury for a long time, and England will miss him this summer. In the last Ashes series, he was leading the whole English bowling attack and greatly troubled Australian batters.

Mark Wood is also injured, and there is concern about his recovery before Ashes 2023. It is expected that he may not be available for it.
