Indian batter Shreyas Iyer was deemed fit recently and was named in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023. There were a lot of speculations about his fitness and many reports suggested that he won’t be completely fit to play in the tournament.
But Shreyas Iyer had different plans. The batter played a few practice games at NCA and JCA. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that he smashed 199 runs in the last match he played and convinced the selectors that he’s fully fit.
Shreyas Iyer reportedly batted for 38 overs and fielded 50 overs. Following his show he was deemed fit to play and was named in the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2023. It is expected that he will walk straight into the XI and it’ll be a great opportunity for him to regain his touch and get into the groove ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Shreyas Iyer has been the backbone of the Indian team in the ODIs. He has been one of the best batters for the team and has bailed them out of trouble many times. He will be extremely crucial for India going into the Asia Cup 2023 as well World Cup.
He will be making his comeback to the team after the prolonged injury. The batter complained of back pain during the Test series against Australia earlier this year and since then has been out of action, missing IPL as well as the ICC WTC Final.
