India Cricket Team achieved a historic feat after their 5-wicket win over Australia in the first ODI of the three-match series in Mohali. The Men in Blue played staggeringly well in outshined the opposition in both departments to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Following the victory, India became the No.1 ranked ODI team in the world. The Men in Blue after the win attained 116 ratings. They overtook Pakistan, which has 115 ratings, to go to the top of the rankings. They now have a great chance to retain the No.1 spot and enter ICC World Cup 2023 as top top-ranked team.
All they need to do is they need to win one of the two remaining IND vs AUS ODIs. If they manage to do that they will be the No.1 ranked team going into the ICC World Cup 2023, which altogether will be a different boost for them.
As India became the No.1 ranked side in ODIs, they achieved a historic feat as they became the No.1 ranked team in all three formats of the game simultaneously. The Rohit Sharma-led side has been the No.1 ranked team in the Tests as well as the T20Is for a while.

India became only the second team to become the No.1 ranked team in all three formats. Earlier South Africa achieved the feat in 2012. The Men in Blue would be hoping to keep the same thing for a long now.
India had a great start to the series as they played staggering well and won the game by the margin of 5 wickets. The focus now shifts towards the second match, which will be played on 24th September in Indore.
