World Cup 2023 Points Table Updated: Amidst all the festivities going around in the country, Team India’s 160-run win over the Netherlands has come as icing over the cake. It was easy for the Indians to go past the Dutch, especially given that the team had already qualified for the World Cup 2023 semi-finals. With this victory against the Netherlands, Team India remains the only undefeated side, sitting at the top of the World Cup 2023 Points Table with nine victories on the bounce.
The day began with India winning the toss and opting to bat first. All the top five Indian batters scored half-centuries, with two of them – Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul completing their tons as well. While Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten at 128 runs in 94 deliveries, KL Rahul scored 102 runs in 64 deliveries and put up a mammoth total of 411 against the Netherlands.
The Indian pacers were once again right on the money, however, there was not much assistance for them early on. Though, Siraj managed to edge Wesley Barresi, Max ODowd and Colin Ackerman stitched a small partnership.
India required someone to break the partnership and Kuldeep Yadav put his hand up and dismissed Colin Ackerman. Soon Max ODowd was also removed by Ravindra Jadeja. The Netherlands were once again forced into the rebuilding phase, however, Virat Kohli provided another breakthrough in the form of skipper Scott Edwards’ wicket.
The wickets then fell on consistently with the Indian pacers swirling their magic in the second spell. Bumrah picked two wickets, and Siraj got one in his bag too during the second spell. To finish off things, skipper Rohit Sharma rolled his arm over and got the wicket of Teja Nidamanuru. The Netherlands were dismissed at a score of 250 runs in 47.5 overs.
