This home series will act as the start of a new journey for the Indian Women as well as England Women for the Women’s T20I World Cup coming up next year. Both teams would want to catch up on the momentum and tick each section and department with strengths.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian side which will welcome Renuka Singh after an injury break. On the other side, Number 1 T20I Bowler Sophie Ecclestone is also back in the T20I side after a long break due to a shoulder injury.

When it comes to team rankings, the England Women’s Cricket team always hangs around the top position and right now they are placed second in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings. They got eliminated in the semifinal round of the Women’s T20I World Cup 2023, lost two T20I series back to back, and now have this series in front against India Women. They are sitting second with a rating of 282 in 27 T20I matches.
No doubt Australian Women are number 1 on the list not only in the T20I Team rankings but also in the ODI Team Rankings as well. They started the year by winning the Women’s T20I World Cup 2023. Then they had a three-match T20I series against England in England where they won the first match but lost the next two and lost the series thereafter.
They are at the top spot of the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings with 297 ratings in 25 matches. They now have a tour of India for an only test, 5 ODIs, and 3 T20I next year.
New Zealand is ranked third, only two rating points ahead of India. The T20I World Cup did not see New Zealand Women advance to the elimination round. This year, they have only played one T20I series, which they won 2-1 over Sri Lankan women.
India, with 260 ratings from 37 games, is ranked fourth in the standings. This season, India Women have played the most matches and have performed quite well in the majority of them. They advanced to the T20I World Cup 2023 semifinals before defeating Bangladesh in a three-game T20I series played in Bangladesh. Afterward, they took home the gold in cricket from the Asian Games.
