A lot of new faces have shone in the five-match home T20I series against Australia. The domination of India in T20I Cricket in the recent past has been top-notch. India ended up runner-up in the ODI CWC and just following the ODI World Cup 2023, India and Australia were scheduled to play a five-match T20I series and India have won the series 4-1.
India came out the stronger side right from the 1st T20I and successfully carried out that momentum till the fifth match. They lost the 3rd T20I where Australia were too good to outclass the Indian bowling unit. Ruturaj and Ravi Bishnoi were on the golden run as they own the top spot in most runs and most wickets in the T20I series against Australia respectively.
In the latest ICC T20I player rankings, Surya Kumar Yadav once again has secured his Number 1 T20I ranked batter spot even after a not-so-convincing series and now tops the board by the lead of 68 rating points to the second-ranked batsman Mohammed Rizwan. Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan holds the second rank with 787 rating points. He has had a really good T20I season back this year and is the top run scorer for Pakistan in the shortest format this year.
Aiden Markram is at 3 who is followed by another Pakistani batsman- the former skipper Babar Azam. Babar Azam sits 4th with a rating of 734. Ruturaj Gaikwad has made the most out of the T20I series as he jumped 56 spots to take the 7th in the latest ICC T20I Player Rankings.
It is quite interesting that the top 5s in the bowling rankings are spinners only. Ravi Bishnoi, after his impressive performance of 9 wickets in 5 matches, has earned the top spot in the latest updated ICC bowling rankings with career-best 699 ratings. He displaced Rashid Khan who is now at the second spot with 692 rating points, Wanindu Hasaranga and Adil Rashid at joint third position with 679 points, and Maheesh Theekshana at fifth with 677 rating points.
As always, nothing much changed in the all-rounders tally with Shakib-al-Hasan still, by far, the number 1 T20I All-rounder in the latest T20I player rankings. Mohammad Nabi jumped to the second spot and Hardik Pandya is the third-ranked T20I all-rounder with a rating of 204. Aiden Markram of South Africa is at 4 in the top T20I all-rounders rankings. Marcus Stoinis climbed a couple of spots and reached 5th.
