(18 Dec) ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings: After a while, ICC have released the latest updated ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings where India is still at the top position. Australia are also the joint number 1 Team in the Test after they decisively beat Pakistan in the Perth Test.

Australia soundingly defeated Pakistan in the first test of the Pakistan Tour of Australia 2023-24. It was an excellent team performance that put Pakistan into the backfoot right from Day 1. Pakistan were lacking an in-form batter who could hold one end and that is where Australia took the game and are now leading the series 1-0.
Like they are ruling ODI and T20I rankings, India are number 1 team in the red ball format too. They have been consistent but one bad performance takes all the credit away from them. India were too good in the red ball format for the past three years as they have played both finals of the World Test Championship but both times were in the losing corner at the end.
In the latest updated ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings, India are at the number 1 stop with 118 ratings in 29 matches. Sharing the number-one spot with India, Australia are the defending ICC World Test Champions. They defeated India in the final of the ICC WTC final 2023 by 209 runs. Australia also have 118 ratings and have played 30 matches.
England are ranked third in the latest ICC Test Team rankings. They have 115 rating points to their name in as many as 43 games. They are then followed by South Africa. India is currently on a tour of South Africa where they are scheduled to play a two-match Test series. South Africa are at four with 104 rating points.
Pakistan were inching closer to the top 5 of the table after two straight victories over Sri Lanka in tests but after the defeat against Australia, they lost a couple of rating points and now sit at number 6 with 92 ratings.
