Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has picked a player that can X factor for Team India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. What caught the attention of many was backed a player who hasn’t been a regular member of the team.
Suresh Raina backed keeper-batter Sanju Samson to be a factor for Team India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament will be played in the Caribbean and the United States of America (USA) in the month of June.
Sanju Samson hasn’t got the kind of opportunities that he would’ve wanted. The keeper-batter has been on the sidelines because of the presence of other keepers in the team. Management has preferred other keepers over him and chances are very bleak that he could be there for the team in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Sanju Samson has been named in the Indian team for the ongoing IND vs AFG series. However, he hasn’t got opportunities in the two games that the team has played so far. With India winning the series already, it’s likely that he might get a chance in the third game.
Sanju Samson will be having IPL 2024 to prove his worth to selectors. If he performs well in the league there might be a chance he will make it into the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. The keeper-batter possesses great ability and could be handy for the team.
Sanju Samson’s ability to hit an effortless six could be a game changer for the team in a tournament like T20 World 2024. Also, he has the potential to bat both at the top as well as in the middle order. Many would be hoping that he makes it into the team.
Sanju Samson has a great track record in the shortest format of the game. Overall, he has played 256 T20s in his career and has smashed 6190 runs at a strike rate of over 133 to go with 3 tons and 40 half-centuries.
