India batter Shreyas Iyer’s torrid run in Test cricket continued as he bagged another failure in the second innings of the ongoing IND vs ENG Test. The match between the teams is taking place at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
India lost early wickets in the second innings of the IND vs ENG. It was expected that Shreyas Iyer would take responsibility and set the stage on fire. But it was a similar story for him as he bagged another low score and put his team in a pressure situation.
Shreyas Iyer had a good start to his innings as he played some crisp shots and bailed his team out of trouble, adding a fifty-plus partnership with Shubman Gill. With him being already under pressure, it was expected that he would set the stage on fire and take his team to a respectable total against England in the IND vs ENG game.
But it didn’t happen as he threw away his wicket and perished in the 28th over. Shreyas Iyer tried to attack the Tom Hartley. He ran down the track to the full delivery on the pads and tried to hoist it over the infield, but the bat turned upon impact and he didn’t get the desired distance.
The ball went high in the air and England skipper Ben Stokes produced a magnificent catch. He ran back about 25 yards from mid-off at the speed of an Olympic sprinter and then dived to hold onto a really difficult-looking catch.

Shreyas Iyer perished for 29 runs off 52 balls and also hit two boundaries in his innings. He managed 27 runs in the first innings. The batter of late has been under a lot of firing line for his poor failures in Test and it won’t be a surprise if he gets dropped from the team now.
