IND vs ENG: England leaves India after losing 2nd Test in Vishakhapatnam to get charged up ahead of India vs England 3rd test

IND vs ENG: After losing the 2nd fixture of the ongoing five-match Test series, Ben Stokes-led England have decided to leave India and spend some time off the field ahead of the 3rd India vs England test. The Englishmen will engage in some recreational activities in Abu Dhabi before they again land in India for the 3rd test which is scheduled to be held in Rajkot.

As per the reports, Ben Stokes-led side has decided to take a break in the nine-day break for the 3rd test. The team will fly to Abu Dhabi, where they are expected to indulge in golf and other fun activities to freshen up.

The English leadership, which includes captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum, reckons the break would help the players to free up a bit before they fly back to India in a bid to win the five-match series.

The team will then fly back to India a couple of days before the India vs England 3rd test at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot, which is slated to begin on February 15.

The five-match India vs England test series is currently levelled at 1-1 after India defeated England by 106 runs in Vishakhapatnam. Pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah and R Ashwin with the ball in hand became the chief architect of the victory after the batters piled up runs for the team.

The memorable outing in Vishakhapatnam for team India saw young Yashasvi Jaiswal score a double century in the first innings to aid India post a total of 396 runs. Jasprit Bumrah in the second innings picked six wickets to restrict England to a total of 253 runs as India took a 143-run lead.

Alongside such a hefty lead, Team India again piled up 255 runs, thanks to the brilliant century of Shubman Gill. The hosts now had a total of 399 runs to their name which England required to chase to win the 2nd test as well.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, along with R Ashwin, again rose to the occasion and restricted England to a score of 292 runs by picking three wickets apiece and helped India win the India vs England 2nd test by 106 runs.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged India’s inefficiency in converting stats into big totals. During the post-match presentation, he said, “Wickets was really good to bat on. If I have to point anything, a lot of the batters got starts but couldn’t get big scores.”

“But I understand they’re young and new to the game. Important for us to give them confidence. Very proud of such a young squad to come up against a team like that. A lot of the guys are quite young in terms of playing this form of the game. It’ll take some time to be absolutely spot on,” he added.

The win brought India back to a comfortable territory after losing the first game in Hyderabad by 28 runs. The third test begins in Rajkot on February 15. The two sides with one win apiece would look to seal the third test and get an early upper hand in the series.
