IPL Schedule 2024
The IPL schedule 2024 is set to be announced on February 22, as per the close sources. The tournament’s time table will be announced in two phases due to the upcoming general elections in India. While the first phase of the IPL 2024 will include the schedule for the first two weeks, the remainder of the fixture will be revealed after the dates of the Lok Sabha Elections are announced by the Government of India.
The first match of IPL 2024 will start from March 22 (Friday). Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
A total of 74 games are expected to be held during the two-month window for the Tata IPL 2024. The matches will be held in home and away fixtures throughout the tournament with a format similar to that of last year.

Venues – IPL 2024
A total of 10 venues are expected to be used in the IPL 2024. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can allocate a few matches to the other stadiums in India, just like they did in the IPL 2023. The HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala served as the home venue for Punjab Kings for a couple of games, while Guwahati was used by Rajasthan Royals for a couple of matches during the IPL 2023.
Similarly, the BCCI could use the other venues across India to serve as the home ground for a few matches during the IPL 2024.

- M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru: Home to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a seating capacity of 40,000 spectators.
- Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai: Home to Mumbai Indians (MI) with a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.
- MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai: Home to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with a seating capacity of 50,000 fans.
- Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad: Home to Gujarat Titans (GT) with a seating capacity of a whopping 110,000 spectators.
- Ekana Stadium, Lucknow: Home to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators.
- IS Bindra Cricket Stadium, Mohali: Home to Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a seating capacity of 27,000 fans.
- Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi: Home to Delhi Capitals (DC) with a seating capacity of 40,000 spectators.
- Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur: Home to Rajasthan Royals (RR) with a seating capacity of 23,000 fans.
- Eden Gardens, Kolkata: Home to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a seating capacity of 68,000 fans.
- Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad: Home to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with a seating capacity of 39,000 spectators.
