India opening batter Yashavi Jaiswal equalled Virat Kohli in a massive feat in Test cricket for India. The batter joined the right-hander as played with the most runs in the series against England in the longest format of the game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the feat in the ongoing fourth IND vs ENG Test at the Jharkhand Cricket Ground in Ranchi. The batter completed 655 runs in the series and joined Virat Kohli, who achieved the feat against England in the 2016/17 series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been nothing short of exceptional in the ongoing IND vs ENG series. He is the only batter with over 650 runs in the series whereas other batters have struggled to get even 300, which speaks a lot of his performance in the series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal started the series on high as he hit an 80-run knock in the first match. After that, he hasn’t looked back. The batters then slammed two back-to-back double centuries in Vizag and Rajkot that saw him crossing the 500-run mark in the series.
In the ongoing Test against England, the left-hander continued his impressive run as he slammed 73 runs in the first innings and then followed it up a 37-run knock in the second innings. He is the only batter from India alongside Virat Kohli to score 500 runs in the Test series for India.
In the four matches so far, Yashasvi Jaiswal has hit 655 runs at an average of around 95. With one more game slated to take place in the ongoing IND vs ENG series, it won’t be a surprise if he goes past the 700-run mark in the series. He will be extremely crucial for the team in the next game as well and would want to win for his team.
