Latest PSL Points Table 2024: Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultan have consolidated their position at the top of the latest PSL Points Table 2024 following a mammoth win against defending champions Lahore Qalandars, last night. The fixture between Multan Sultan and Lahore Qalandars saw the former beat the latter by a margin of 60 runs to bring up their fifth win of the season.

Shaheen Shah Afridi spearheaded Lahore Qalandars haven’t quite found their mojo so far in this edition of the PSL. The team has been on a losing spree ever since the event started and there seems to be no end to their woes.
Their recent loss against Multan Sultan is just an added problem for them. In response to the 214-run target, Lahore could only manage to score 154 runs before getting bowled out in 17 overs.
The team got off to a quick start with the two openers scoring 50 runs in inside 5 overs, however, as wickets began falling it didn’t stop then. Lahore lost their wickets in quick succession and none of their batters could play a long innings to threaten the given target. In the end, Lahore fell 60 runs short of their target as they ran out of players to score those.
Usama Mir scalped six wickets in the innings to restrict Lahore Qalandars to a meagre total. He gave away 40 runs in his 4 overs and scalped six wickets. Meanwhile, Faisal Akram dismissed two batters and one apiece went to Aftab Ibrahim and Khushdil Shah.
Earlier in the innings, Multan Sultan posted 214 runs on the board against Lahore. They lost Rizwan for a duck in the first over itself, however, the setback wasn’t enough to challenge the incoming batters. Reeza Hendricks and Usman Khan stitched a 70-run opening partnership to begin the proceedings.
Later on, Tayyab Tahir joined Usman Khan, following the dismissal of Hendricks at 40 runs score, and added 78 runs to the overall total. Following the dismissal of Tayyab Tahir, Iftikhar Ahmad joined forces with Usman Khan and took the score to 214 runs. Usman Khan remained the vital cog in Multan’s sublime batting effort which saw them score 214 runs in 20 overs. The batter played a sensational innings of 96 runs in 55 deliveries.
Meanwhile, Iftikhar Ahmed played an unbeaten knock of 40 runs in just 18 deliveries which included two fours and three sixes.
