IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2024: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is one of the biggest cricket events planned in the month of June in the West Indies & the USA. The showpiece event is slated to begin on June 1 in Dallas with the United States taking on Canada in the tournament opener.
Though the marquee tournament is still two months away, it has begun taking the spotlight. The recent buzz across the internet around the T20 World Cup 2024 has been created due to its soaring match ticket prices, with a special focus on India’s matches.
Two of India’s games, against Pakistan and Canada, in the T20 World Cup 2024 are reportedly sold out. India is set to play Pakistan on June 9 in New York, while India’s fixture against Canada is scheduled on June 15 in Florida.
As per the reports published on USA Today, the tickets for the IND vs PAK and IND vs CAN matches are already sold out and are now available in the resale market at sky-rocketing prices, with some of them costing as high as INR 1.86 Crores.
The basic prices of the match tickets on resale websites like StubHub and SeatGeek are recorded at INR 1.04 lakhs. The price of the VIP ticket is close to around INR 33.15 Lakhs, which will then have a component of the platform fee. The total amount eventually swells to INR 41.44 Lakhs.
On StubHub, the cheapest ticket price is set at INR 1.04 Lakhs, and the most expensive ticket for India’s game on SeatGeek is clocked at INR 1.86 Crores, which is inclusive of the platform fee.
Notably, the basic price for the tickets that were released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in its first phase was INR 497, while the price for the most expensive VIP ticket was set at INR 33,148 excluding the taxes.
T20 World Cup 2024 Details
The soaring prices of the tickets for the T20 World Cup 2024 indicate the anticipation among the fans for the event, which will be played between June 1 and 29 in the USA and West Indies.
A total of 20 teams will engage to lift the glorious T20 trophy and get crowned as the World T20 champions. As many as 55 games will be held throughout the competition across nine venues – 3 in the USA and the rest in the West Indies.
16 out of 55 games scheduled in the T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in the USA – Lauderhill, Florida and Dallas, while the remaining games will be held in the West Indies. The final of the event will be staged at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown in Barbados.
