(06 May) ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings: The International Cricket Council came up with an update to the Men’s T20I Team rankings where after a draw home T20I series against New Zealand, Pakistan are out of the TOP 5. Australia and South Africa became the two big beneficiaries of the latest update in Team standings and here are we, with the latest updated ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings.

The ICC T20I rankings are updated just after the conclusion of the New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2024 where Pakistan hosted five T20Is in two different venues. The first T20I was washed away due to rain and the series was left with four matches. Due to the IPL commitments of big faces of the New Zealand National Team, CNZ landed an inexperienced squad in Pakistan.
Pakistan, however, got a full-strength squad but skipper Babar Azam made ample experiments to try different combinations, and following this inconsistency in the team, Pakistan couldn’t even win a home T20I series to a third-string team of New Zealand. The series ended with a 2-2 scoreline.
These two losses at home have impacted Pakistan in the T20I standing where they are now out of the top 5 Teams in the T20Is. They have played 37 matches in this cycle and sit 7th with 247 ratings.
There are plenty of changes at the top as well with India still standing at the top. India are number one T20I team with a rating of 264 after 47 matches. They are closely followed by Australia who have 257 rating points.
South Africa were ranked 6th in the previous standings but the demotion of New Zealand and Pakistan automatically promoted the Proteas to the 4th rank with 250 ratings.
