James Anderson has retired as one of the best pacers of all time. He retired on a high, and he is at the top of the list in many records. Overall, Anderson picked up 704 wickets in 187 Tests with a best of 7/42. He is the third-highest wicket taker in Tests after Muttaih Muralidaran (800) and Shane Warne (708). But these two are spinners, and one can expect spinners to take more wickets in Tests. Hence, James Anderson is the only pacer with 700+ wickets in Tests.

2. Most Matches by a bowler in Tests

As a batter, it is still easy to play for 15-20 years in cricket because batters tend to get less injury, but for a fast bowler, playing for a long period of time is very impossible. Fast bowlers generally suffer from knee injuries, which end their careers. But James Anderson played international cricket for 22 years and played 188 Tests for England. These are the second-most Test matches for cricket and the most by a bowler ever. Sachin Tendulkar is at the top with 200 Tests.
