India has performed extremely well in the Paralympics, a performance which takes the nation to the next level of success, as their medal tally reaches 25, a record number of medals. With 5 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and 11 bronze medals, from the 12 different disciplines they participated in.
India were record medalists, as they made a record in the Tokyo Paralympics and have made a newer one in the Paris Paralympics, as the nation nears 30 medals which can help them finish among the top 12 teams in the competition.
The medal tally began with Avani Lekhara, clinching the gold for the second time after her first victory in Tokyo Olympics. Next Paralympians like Nitesh Kumar, Sumit Antil, Harvinder Singh and Dharambir went on to clinch gold for the nation as well.

9 of the Silver medalists from the nation, included, Manish Narwal, Nishad Kumar, Yogesh Kathuniya, Thulasimathi Murugesan, Suhas Yathiraj, Sharad Kumar, Ajeet Singh, Sachin Khilari and Parnav Soorma.
India gained the double podium twice this Paralympics a pride moment for the country. First Avani and Mona Agarwal clinched gold and bronze in the same event while next in the event of Men’s Club Throw F51 event, Dharambir and Soorma clinched Gold and silver together.
Even Indian Paralympian archer, Harvinder Singh emerged as India’s first-ever champion in the event. While Preethi Pal and Deepthi Jeevanji emerged as historic Paralympic athletic champions with 3 bronze medals.
Also, Kapil Parmar has emerged as India’s first Paralympian who has won a Paralympic Bronze medal in the Men’s 60Kg J1 category event of Judo. Today athletes like, Dipesh Kumar (javelin), Praveen Kumar (Men’s High Jump), Ajabaji Chaudhary (Women’s Javelin), Soman Rana and Hokato Sema (shot-put) will be athletes looking for a medal.
Also, India’s two-time Olympics champion in Javelin, Neeraj Chopra, Gold medalist from Tokyo and Silver medalist in the Paris Olympics 2024, despite a groin injury and sheer discomfort went on to secure a place in the Diamond League finals after finishing 4th place in the qualifiers.
The season finale will be taking place for two days from September 13th and 14th, as he has a Gold medal in the Diamond League back in Zurich 2022 and then a silver to follow in 2023 at Eugene.
