Australia vs India: No request from BCCI to shift 4th test from Brisbane, says CA

Australia vs India: No request from BCCI to shift 4th test from Brisbane, says CA.

Australia vs India: Cricket Australia head Nick Hockley shuts down all the possible rumors and reports claiming Team India is reluctant to play 4th test in Brisbane due to the hard quarantine rules in Queensland. Hockley further confirmed that the BCCI has been fully supportive to us for the safe conduction of the series and is fine with the strict rules in Queensland.

“Cricket Australia has not received any formal requests from BCCI about the 4th test venue, instead BCCI is supportive to us for the safe conduction of the series. The tour will go as per plan as of now,” CA chief Nick Hockley said.

The third test match between Australia and India will be held at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 7th to 11th. The four-game series is right now locked at 1-1 after India thrashed Aussies by eight wickets in the second test match at Melbourne.

The controversial fourth test is scheduled to be conducted in Brisbane’s Gaba from 15th January.

Australian media is reportedly making the issue:

The Australian media a few days after the defeat in Melbourne spread the news of Team India being reluctant of traveling to Brisbane due to stricter quarantine rules. They further added that Team India does not want to get locked inside a hotel room one more time after having gone through that previously.

The Australian reports also said that the Indian players and management wanted the 4th test to be held in Sydney Cricket Ground.

Team India and Australia reached Sydney for the 3rd test match after all the members and staff reported negative upon testing.

All the members from the Indian team including the five who came in the middle of the controversy of possible breach of bio-secure bubble boarded in the same charted flight to Sydney.

Earlier, Cricket Australia and BCCI said they are jointly probing the matter and will soon get into the final result. As of now, the matter is done and dusted as all the players boarded the same chartered flight.
