IPL 2021: Purse Value left with each IPL Franchise after full player retention and release.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: With each passing day, the excitement among the fans is getting doubled for the upcoming IPL 2021. The Auction of the fourteenth edition is not far from here. As asked by the BCCI, all the franchises have released the full list of retained and released players on 20th January.

As per the reports, the IPL auctions will be held on 16th February and all the franchise must be ready for the event. As the full list of players is out now, we will take a look at the purse value left with each IPL franchise after the retention and player release along with the number of slots left.

Purse Value left with each IPL franchise ahead of IPL 2021 mini-auctions:

Chennai Super Kings (CSK):

Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, Monu Sing, Shane Watson and Murli Vijay are among those who have been released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2021. While CSK retained its core and MS Dhoni will once again lead the side. The Chennai management will head to the IPL 2021 mini-auctions with INR 22.9 crores and they need to fill up one overseas slot and seven domestic.

Mumbai Indians (MI):

The five times title champions is one side that can head directly to the games of IPL 2021 without auctions. While Mumbai Indians have retained their all key playing 11 players but Lasith Malinga, James Pattinson, Mitchell McClenaghan, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai and Digvijay Deshmukh are amongst the released players. The defending champions have INR 15.35 crore in their wallet and need to fill up seven domestic and four overseas slots.

Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB):

The released list of RCB includes Chris Morris, Aaron Finch, Moeen Ali, Isuru Udana, Dayle Steyn, Shivam Dube, Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, Gurkeerat Mann, and Parthiv Patel. While the franchise is with a handsome 35.7 crores money left with them. RCB needs to fill up thirteen domestic slots and four overseas.

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

Having released their skipper Steve Smith, Rajasthan Royals have saved a good amount for the IPL 2021 mini-auctions. Ankit Rajpoot, Oshane Thomas, Shashank Singh, Akash Singh, Varun Aaron, Tom Curran, and Aniruddha Joshi are the released players by the franchise. A purse value of INR 34.85 crore is available with the franchise for the purchase of three overseas players and eight Indian players.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP):

After a poor show in the previous year IPL, Kings XI Punjab has gambled with the release of as many as 10 players. Glenn Maxwell, Karun Nair, Hardus Viljoen, Jagadeesha Suchith, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sheldon Cottrell, Jimmy Neesham, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Tajinder Singh are the released players. The franchise has INR 53.2 crore purse value for the upcoming purchase. The franchise will spend the money on five foreign players and nine domestic cricketers.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): 

Sunrisers Hyderabad has the purse value of INR 10.75 crore after they decided to go with very few release. They have released a total of five players which include Sanjay Yadav, B Sandeep, Billy Stanlake, Fabian Allen and Yarra Prithviraj. The franchise needs to fill an overseas slot while four domestic players.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):

The Shahrukh Khan owned KKR have gone with the same franchise will little bit of twist. They have released just five players – Tom Banton, Chris Green, Nikhil Naik, Siddharth M and Siddhesh Lad. The franchise owns the value of INR 10.85 crore and needs to fill one foreign slot and seven domestic.

Delhi Capitals (DC):

The franchise filled with the young lads has the smallest purse value – INR 9 Crores. The runner-up of IPL 2021 will have to fill two overseas slots while six domestic. The released players include – Mohit Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, Keemo Paul, Sandeep Lamichhane, Alex Carey, and Jason Roy.
