IPL 2021 mini-auctions: No quarantine for the franchise owners to attend IPL 2021 auctions.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The IPL 2021 players auction is around the corner and all the franchise must be preparing to take part in it. The players’ auctions will be held on 18th February in Chennai following the first two test games against England.

While most of the franchise will go half-heartedly as they have retained all the key players in their side but Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore will have to run after the players due to high purse value. Punjab has 52.3 crores in their kitty while Bangalore has 35.7 crores.

No quarantine for owners but Two Covid- negative reports mandatory:

The BCCI has released the guidelines for the participation in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions. The franchise owners can attend the event and no quarantine rules will be applicable to them. However, the owners will have to carry the reports of covid-19.

The owners will be allowed once they show the two covid-19 negative reports only. The owners have to go for a covid test before 72 hours of IPL 2021 auctions (18th February) and one test will be conducted upon arriving Chennai.

BCCI has asked all the franchise not to include more than 13 members. Only 13 members from a particular franchise will be allowed into the event.

“Please note that the team members attending the player auction in Chennai will need to do an RT-PCR test 72 hours before the auction date and submit the negative report. Further, there will a test is done in Chennai at the venue for the members attending the auction, details of which will be shared in due course,” BCCI CEO and IPL COO Hemang Amin have written to the franchises according to the website.

Also, the players trading window will get closed on 04th February and till now three players have been traded. Rajasthan Royals traded Robin Uthappa to Chennai Super Kings in an all-cash deal. Royal Challenger Bangalore acquired two players (Daniel Sams and Harshel Patel) from Delhi Capitals in an all-cash deal.
