India vs England: Virat Kohli slams and questions the pitch critics

India vs England: Virat Kohli slams and questions the pitch critics.

India vs England: The surface used in the recently revamped Narendra Modi Stadium and MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai have become the epicentre of criticism from several former cricketers while the other has been of the favour that there was nothing wrong on the surface. Amidst all these comments game, the main eyes on the press conference of Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli in the recent press-conference at Ahmedabad said that there is “too much noise about spinning tracks”. Kohli also questioned the critics that weather they play to win the Test game or play to take it day 5 or so.

“Do you play the game to win it or to make sure it goes to five days and there is entertainment?” he quipped.

Kohli said India never questioned the seaming tracks overseas then why others are doing this here. The question should be with the batters not with the conditions and pitches.

“I believe there is too much noise about spinning tracks,” Kohli said.

“The reason behind our success as a team is just because we haven’t cribbed about anything abroad and we just focus on our game. As a team and as a player you must focus on playing cricket in the given conditions and try to get better.”

“I am sure if our media is in a space to contradict those views or present views which say that it is unfair to criticise only spin tracks, then it will be a balanced a conversation,” Kohli argued.

“But the unfortunate thing is everyone goes on with their narrative and keeps it posting as news till it becomes relevant. Once the game takes place, if it’s wrapped in 4-5 days then no one says a single word but when it closes in 2-3 days everyone starts to pounce on that.”

“I am sure that no one uttered a word when we lost against New Zealand and that game was closed in mere 3 days.”

“It has always been the case that spinning tracks are criticised but when the ball seams a lot and teams are bundled out for 40-50, no one talks about it,” the India captain said.

Home Test games are meant to provide an edge to the home side with the conditions and that what the test games are. If we move out of India, we also face their conditions and we never had any issue with that.
