Vivo IPL 2021: West Indies and Punjab Kings (PBKS) cricketer Nicholas Pooran and Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jaydev Unadkat have pledged to donate parts of their IPL 2021 salary for the fight against Covid-19 in India.

Due to an unprecedented rise in the cases, Indian health care system is under serious crisis of Oxygen Concentrators and crucial medicines. The country in the last 24 hours has reported 3.86 lakh fresh COVID cases.

Pooran urged all his fans and Indian people to get vaccinated at the earliest once they get their chance.

“If you can get vaccinated please do, I will also do my part which is to continue to pray for India but not only that, I would also like to donate a portion of my IPL salary towards this crisis,” Pooran said in the video posted on Twitter.

Hours after Pooran’s video, Rajasthan Royals pacer Jaydev Unadkat said that he will be contributing towards the fight against the dreaded virus by donating 10 per cent of his IPL salary.

The Gujarat Cricketer who was retained in the IPL 2020 by RR for a whopping INR 3 Crores informed all his fans about his contribution through his tweet.

“I am contributing 10% of my IPL salary towards providing essential medical resources for those in need. My family will make sure it reaches the right places. Jai Hind!,” Unadkat tweeted.

Earlier, his franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) donated INR 7.5 Crores (USD 1 Million) to fight and purchase the essential medicines and oxygen concentrators in India.

Apart from this, Delhi Capitals (DC) have also informed that they will be donating INR 1.5 Crores towards the relief.

“ANNOUNCEMENT, Delhi Capitals and its patrons, the @JSWFoundation & GMR Varalakshmi Foundation are offering financial support amounting to INR 1.5 Cr to NCR based NGOs, the @Hemkunt_Fdn and the @UdayFoundation,” wrote Delhi Capitals (DC).
