RR pacer Chetan Sakariya’s father died due to covid-19, franchise to provide all support to his family.
IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Chetan Sakariya’s father lost his battle against Covid-19 earlier today at a hospital in Bhavnagar. His father Kanjibhai Sakariya was battling with the dreaded virus for the past couple of days.
This is the second death in his family, Chetan lost his brother due to suicide in January early this year.
The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) in a press release conveyed their condolences and said that the whole Association is saddened with what happened with Chetan and his family.
“…Saurashtra Cricket Association conveys heartfelt condolences to Chetan and prays to the Almighty to give enough strength to everyone in his family to bear the loss and grant eternal peace to the departed noble soul,” said the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
Sakariya was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2021 Auction for INR 1.90 Crores.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) also showed their gratitude and said, “It pains us so much to confirm that Mr Kanjibhai Sakariya lost his battle with Covid-19 earlier today. We’re in touch with Chetan and will provide all possible support to him and his family in this difficult time.”
The young pacer scalped seven wickets in the now-suspended IPL 2021.
As of now, India is seeing an unprecedented rise in the number of Covid cases. Despite forcing lockdowns in most parts of the country, the cases are on rise. The cases toll reached over 4 Lakhs while over 4000 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
