ICC WTC Final: Kane Williamson led New Zealand once again thrashed team India in the ICC knockout game. This time, the struggle and brilliance of India in over two years in test cricket slipped down in the hands of New Zealand on the last day of the ICC World Test Championship final. The kiwis thrashed Virat Kohli and his men by eight wickets to lift the Test Championship Mace.

Kane Williamson and Ros Taylor done the job for black caps as they finished as the winner of the Test Championship. Taylor smacked the winning four to delight and mark the beginning of the enjoyment for the kiwis.

The test mace will be lifted by Kane Williamson and his men as the result came after six days of play.

Playing sensationally, the kiwis put India on the back foot right from the start of the test game. Kane Williamson won the toss and invited India to bat first.

India started off quite well with Rohit Sharma (34) and Shubman Gill (28) providing a solid opening stand. The pair amassed 62 runs for the wicket in the first innings.

Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajunkya Rahane capitalized on the start and amassed useful runs the other day. Kohli scored 44 runs while Rahane fell one short of his fifty.

Young kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson was the pick of the bowlers as he launched his attack and scalped a test fifer in the WTC Final against India.

New Zealand bowled out India for 217 runs in the first innings.

For the kiwis, Devon Conway and Tom Latham opened brilliantly. Young Conway smacked his half-century, the first one in the ICC World Test Championship final while Latham collected 30 runs.

In response to India’s 217, the opponents scored 249 with a significant lead of 32 runs. Williamson also remained the top scorer as he played a brilliant knock of 49 runs.

Mohammad Shami used assistance from the surface and picked up four wickets while Ishant Sharma picked two. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja got two and one respectively.

India once again came to bat in the second innings on Day 5 of the ultimate test. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill once again opened the innings nicely, however, the brilliance of Tim Southee and a little error in judgement got the better of both as Southee removed both the openers on Day 5 itself.

The second innings for India didn’t turn out to be a fruitful outing as New Zealand reduced them for 170 runs on day 6. Rishabh Pant remained the top scorer having scored 41 runs.

New Zealand were given a total of 139 to chase down in a little over two sessions.

Once again, Tom Latham and Devon Conway started beautifully and amassed quick runs for their side.

Ravichandran Ashwin kept his domination going against the two left-handers as he removed both the openers in quick successions.

The kiwi skipper Kane Williamson and Ros Taylor kept the ends tight and took New Zealand to the winning runs.

Williamson in the process completed his half century while Ros Taylor playing his part scoring 47 runs.
