IPL 2022 Retention: After a lot of debates and discussions over the two new IPL franchises, things have started falling in place and it seems that the IPL 2022 will feature ten teams. The BCCI on Monday informed about a lot of things for which a blueprint has been set up, this includes, the tender for the new franchises, new retention policies, increase in total purse value and the fresh media rights.
Talking about the new retention policy, each franchise will be entitled to retain a maximum of four players that can be divided into 3 Indian players and one overseas or two Indian players and two overseas players.
The board also said that barring these retained cricketers, everyone will directly head to the Auction table and will be picked from there.
In this article, we will predict the 4 probable players from each franchise that are likely to be retained ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
Predicting 4 Players each franchise will retain ahead of IPL 2022 Mega Auction:
Delhi Capitals (DC):
Shreyas Iyer: Delhi Capitals (DC) regular skipper Shreyas Iyer will be in the first place to get retained ahead of the IPL 2022. Ever since he picked the captaincy roles for the franchise, he has turned the fortunes into their favour.
Rishabh Pant: The franchise will also place its cards to retain southpaw Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batsman is the captain of this year’s IPL, as Iyer was ruled out, and is likely to continue his role until the end of the season.
Shikhar Dhawan: The left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan has shown great confidence in his batting and is consistently improving in it. The cricketer is leading the run-getters chart in the IPL 2021 and is likely to get retained.
Kagiso Rabada: Amongst all the batters, pacer Kagiso Rabada comes up to be a probable option to get retained. The South African pacer has been their key in the bowling department and DC won’t try to lose it anyhow.
