VIVO IPL 2021: After CSK, Mumbai Indians (MI) likely to fly to the UAE soon, permission awaits.
VIVO IPL 2021: After MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) is all set to fly down to the UAE to set up their base camp and begin preparation for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season fourteen.
According to the report of InsideSports, both the franchises have booked tickets for the flights and are ready to board it on Friday, however, the permissions are still not granted by the responsible authorities.
When asked about the same, CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanath responded, “We have not got permissions as yet. We are continuously in touch with the BCCI and they are speaking to the authorities in UAE. We were earlier told permissions will come in by Wednesday but we have not received the same as yet. Let’s see if we receive the permissions today.”
MI officials also informed ANI that the franchise is yet to receive approval to land the flight in the middle east.
“The team is awaiting the landing permission from the UAE government just like CSK and once they get that, they also wish to land in Dubai on Friday. It will be a bubble-to-bubble transfer for MI, but they will still undergo quarantine as per protocols once in UAE. It is bubble-to-bubble because the boys are already in a bubble and training in Mumbai,” a source told ANI.

Both the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be the first teams to begin the training in the UAE if they get permission anytime soon.
Mumbai Indians (MI) had a mixed first essay of the IPL 2021, where the team managed to seal four wins off seven matches and is ranked fourth in the points table.
The unstable middle order of the defending champions showed dire times in the first seven games. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya looked out of form in the entire first half while Kieron Pollard wasn’t consistent as well.
The concerning factor will be Pandya’s form lately, which has grabbed multiple eyeballs of the selectors for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The all-rounder struggled in the recent Sri Lanka limited-overs tour and threw his wickets after getting starts. His bowling wasn’t encouraging either to add a little more stress for the selectors.
