England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has named a preliminary 15-men strong squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman. The cricket board confirmed the development on Thursday.
As expected, star all-rounder Ben Stokes is not named in the squad, however, this is only a preliminary squad and changes can be forced until 10th October.
It is noteworthy that Durham’s all-rounder Ben Stokes took an indefinite break from all forms of cricket prioritising his mental wellbeing. The cricketer has chosen to continue his break and thus is not included in the squad. However, ECB can make changes to the squad by October 10 and include Stokes in the group once he makes himself available.
Sussex pacer Tymal Mills has found his way into the squad. The pacer last featured in the international fixture back in February 2017. Mills had an outstanding season in the recent Vitality Blast T20 and the subsequent inaugural edition of the Hundred.
