Rajasthan Royals (RR) Retained Players in IPL 2022 Confirmed.
IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Four days prior to the deadline of player retentions, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have confirmed their first replacement for the IPL 2022. Skipper Sanju Samson has been retained by the inaugural champions for a whopping INR 14 Crores.
The wicketkeeper-batsman is likely to remain the skipper of the side, though, his last outing in the IPL as a skipper wasn’t encouraging.
Furthermore, reports suggest that Rajasthan Royals are expected to retain Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone and Yashasvi Jaiswal as their other three retentions ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Mega Auction.
The retention window for the existing eight franchises will close by 30th November, following which the two new added franchise will begin their process of picking three players outside the auction table.
Samson joined the Royals family back in 2018 for INR 8 Crores. He was appointed the skipper of the team in the last season following Steve Smith’s failure as the captain.
Though he wasn’t sharp with his captaincy, he does manage to secure 484 runs at a strike rate of 137 in the last season.

The discussions over the retention of all-rounder Ben Stokes are still going as. Stokes hasn’t played shortest format matches for long and has recently recuperated with his finger injury. He is currently undergoing training for the upcoming Men’s Ashes 2021-22.
The management is also contemplating the retention of Liam Livingstone ahead of the auction. Livingstone has been a sensation for England in T20Is in both bowling and batting. He played brilliantly in the recent T20 World Cup for England.
There could be a toss-up between England all-rounder Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone. Either of them could be Rajasthan’s third choice retention while stumper batsman Jos Buttler will remain the second choice for the retention.
The uncapped Yashaswi Jaiswal is going to be RR’s fourth and last replacement. Jaiswal will be retained for INR 4 Crores as he is still an uncapped Indian cricketer.
