India and West Indies will take on each other in three matches ODI series followed by the as many games T20I series. The ODIs will be held in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium while the shortest format matches are scheduled in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.

Sunil Gavaskar, L Sivaramakrishnan, Harsha Bhogle, Murali Kartik, Deep Dasgupta and Ajit Agarkar will be the six Indian men available at the commentary box during the West Indies tour of India. West Indies’ elite commentator Ian Bishop will also join the six aforementioned for the ODI matches.

It further stated that Shastri might not be available for the commentary in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He is likely to be available for the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

“He has taken a conscious decision not to take up commentary immediately, at least till the IPL. He has a lot on the table and for two more months, he will remain busy. He will think over it after that,” said a source close to Ravi Shastri.

Earlier a few reports claimed that Shastri has landed a hefty contract with overseas broadcasters following his quit from team India’s head coach’s role. However, no confirmed statements have been made in this regard.

Shastri’s supporters anticipated him to pick up mic duties as soon as he ended his seven years long coaching stint. However, he is unlikely to return to the comm box until the Tata IPL 2022.
