Here is a quick recap of the match between the Capitals and the Titans. The Titans won by 14 runs. Kuldeep Yadav bowled decently well for the Capitals. But Lockie and Shubman won the game for GT!

The TATA IPL 2022 season has begun. The games are turning into nail-biting conquests. The tournament is also seeing many youngsters on the rise. The Rajasthan Royals are off to a flying start winning 2 out of 2 games. The Mumbai Indians on the other hand, as expected are starting slow. There are many positives for them with Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan coming into prime form. The day game saw Mumbai lose to RR by 23 runs. The night game was between Gujarat Titans and the boys from Delhi. Here is an in-depth look at the evening game:

IPL 2022, DC VS GT, Gujarat Titans Batting Innings:

The toss was won by the Delhi Capitals and they opted to bowl first. This was again expected as all the teams are using the same formula.

The Delhi Capitals began on a positive note dismissing Matthew Wade while the Titans were at 2-1. Vijay Shankar walked in next and tried to anchor the innings. He was successful in his plan, as before dismissing, he took the Titans to 44-2. Hardik Pandya was the next one to walk in. The Gujarat management is relying on Hardik and they are using him to his full potential.

By this time Shubman Gill was in supreme touch. He was not only scoring boundaries but was also focusing on the singles and doubles. Gill played only 6 dot balls in his innings. Hardik was also not in a very attacking mode. Both of the boys moved the game around. Khaleel came and pulled the game back for the Delhi Capitals. He dismissed Hardik Pandya. Shubman, however, was around. He slammed a 4 and two 6s off Axar Patel’s over. But the very next over Khaleel dismissed him too. Capitals were back in business with Gujarat Titans at 145-4. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia gave a few finishing touches and Gujarat ended with 171/6 off 20 overs.

Brief Scores:

  • Gujarat Titans: 171/6 off 20 overs.
  • Shubman Gill: 84 off 46 balls.
  • Hardik Pandya: 31 off 27 balls.
  • Khaleel Ahmed: 2/42.

GT VS DC, Delhi Capitals Batting Innings:

The Delhi Capitals’ batting never looked very settled. The Gujarat bowlers were on their mark from the word go! Hardik Pandya got rid of Tim Seifert off his very first ball. Delhi was reeling at 5-1. Mandeep Singh walked in. He did try to anchor the innings but Prithvi Shaw couldn’t hold ground. Shaw was out to a short-ball. It looks like all the IPL teams have figured out his weakness and are bowling short deliveries to him. After his and Mandeep’s dismissal, the Capitals were in total disarray at 34-3.

Rishabh Rajendra Pant walked in next. He along with Lalit Yadav bought the game back into the control of the Capitals. Both the batter from Delhi moved the game. A hit or two in an over was always on the mark. Lalit Yadav was run out in a very unusual fashion when Delhi was at 95! Then an amazing spell from Lockie Ferguson left the Capitals perplexed. He got rid of Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel. From then on, there was no coming back for the Titans. It was just a matter of getting their overs done. Lockie finished with 4 wickets.

Brief Scores:

  • DC: 157/9 off 20 overs.
  • Rishabh Pant: 43 runs of 29 balls.
  • Lalit Yadav: 25 runs of 22 balls.
  • Lockie Ferguson: 4/28.
