Qualification process and Schedule for T20 World Cup 2024 begins as ICC announce complete roadmap: The qualification process and Schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and the United States have already begun with Europe hosting the first set of sub-regional qualifying events. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently revealed the complete roadmap for the world’s biggest T20 World Cup, which will feature a record 20 teams.
The first 12 teams will get an automatic qualification for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 while the next eight spots will be filled by hosting qualifying events across the world.
Of the first 12, eight top-performing teams of the T20 World Cup 2022 will get the automatic qualification. West Indies and the USA, being the hosts of the event in 2024, will also get the automatic qualification. While the remaining two places will be filled by the next highest-ranked team in the ICC T20 team’s rankings as of 14 November 2022.
Remaining eight spots to be filled with qualifying events:
The last eight spots in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be determined by various regional qualifier rounds scheduled in the next two years. Two teams each from the region Africa, Asia and Europe along with one team each from the Americas and East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region will get a seat in the World Cup 2024.
As many as 66 nations across the globe will compete in the coming two years in hopes of getting a berth in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
