Suryakumar Yadav surges to second place in the ICC T20I ranking: Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has gained two places in the recently revised ICC T20I Players Ranking. His match-winning performance against West Indies in the 3rd T20I helped him attain his career-best second position in the T20I rankings.
Suryakumar Yadav scored clinical 76 runs against West Indies in the last night’s fixture at Basseterre which helped him attain his career-best 816 rating points in the ICC T20I Player’s ranking. He is just two points away from equalling Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who has 818 rating points, at the moment.
Notably, he is the only Indian batter to feature in the top ten T20I batters ranking. The next placed Indian batter is Ishan Kishan at 14th position with 626 rating points.
Meanwhile, Protea batter Reeza Hendricks has gained 16 slots to reach 15th place in the ICC T20I ranking after scoring three half-centuries on the trot against England. Hendricks has 615 rating points.
West Indies batter Brandon King has gained 29 places to reach 27th spot, England’s Jonny Bairstow is up by 13 ranks to reach 31 while South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw is at joint 37th position.

In the bowling section, South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has fetched some outstanding gains after scalping eight wickets in the recent T20I series against England. Shamsi is currently seated in second place with an overall rating of 728 points. Meanwhile, Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood continues to lead the chart with 792 rating points.
India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only bowler to feature in the top ten T20I bowlers ranking. Kumar is eighth with 653 rating points.
West Indies’ Akeal Hosein has gained three places to sixth, New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner has gained three places 16th while Ish Sodhi has reached 19th spot after gaining two places.
In the ODI rankings, Indian veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan has made some gains as he reached 12th place. Dhawan jumped one place following his successful stint in the ODI’s against West Indies.
