The Bangladesh vs Afghanistan match was another one of those memorable matches in the Asia Cup 2022. Afghanistan with another remarkable win cemented their place in the Super 4 stages of the Asia Cup 2022.
The team displayed some outstanding performance to outplay Bangladesh and register their second successive victory in the tournament currently. Several players lived up to their worth while many others failed to deliver the performance as expected from them.

1. Hazratullah Zazai – 5
Scored 23 runs off 26 balls and looked sluggish during his stay at the crease. His low strike rate didn’t provide his side with the platform they were in need of and this he gets a 6.
2. Rahmanullah Gurbaz – 4.5
Just like his opening partner, Rahmanullah too scored an extremely rusty 11 runs off 18 balls and failed to get his team off to a quick start. He however initiated a crucial run-out while fielding and thus gets a 4.5.
3. Ibrahim Zadran – 7.5
Ibrahim Zadran played a crucial inning for his side. When the team seemed to be in trouble during the chase, he held one end of the crease and steered the innings cautiously. His low strike rate however was a bit of an issue. He gets a 7.5.
4. Mohammed Nabi – 6.5
This match was a rare failure for skipper Mohammed Nabi both with the bat and the ball. He scored merely 9 runs before being dismissed and conceded 23 runs in his 3 overs with the ball without being able to pick a single wicket. His captaincy decisions however seemed to be top-notch. He gets a 6.5.
5. Najibullah Zadran – 9
Najibullah was Afghanistan’s best batsman in the match and helped his side reach the finish line with utmost ease. Afghanistan at one stage was in trouble due to the increasing required run rate and the fall of wickets. Najibullah’s innings of 43 runs off just 17 balls helped Afghanistan chase down the total without any further hindrances. He thus gets a 9.
6. Karim Janat – 3
Karim Janat didn’t have much to contribute for his side in the match either with the bat or on the field. He gets a 3.
7. Rashid Khan – 8.5
Rashid Khan had a memorable outing against Bangladesh in the match with the ball. His spell of 3/22 in 4 overs helped his side choke the opposition considerably. He cleaned up Bangladesh’s middle order in the middle overs completely. He thus gets an 8.5.
8. Azmatullah Omarzai – 3.5
Azmatullah Omarzai also didn’t have any useful contributions to make for his side in the match. He just got to bowl one over in which he conceded 7 runs without any wicket and this gets a 3.5.
9. Naveen Ul Haq – 4
Naveen Ul Haq was amongst the bowlers who had to remain wicketless in the match. He conceded 31 runs in his four overs without picking any wicket and this gets a 4.
10. Mujeeb Ur Rahman – 9.5
Mujeeb Ur Rahman was Afghanistan’s best performer with the ball in the match. His figures of 3/16 included the wickets of Bangladesh’s top 3 batsmen. During his incredible spell, Mujeeb totally dismantled Bangladesh’s top order thereby pushing to them against the wall. He thus gets a 9.5.
11. Fazalhaq Farooq – 6.5
Farooq who was the hero for Afghanistan in the last match failed to replicate his good performances in this match too. He bowled a decent spell conceding 25 runs in his 4 overs but didn’t get any wicket. He thus gets a 6.5.
Bangladesh vs Afghanistan: Bangladesh Player Ratings
1. Mohammas Naim – 2.5
Mohammad Naim was dismissed for just 6 runs and couldn’t provide his team with a good start. He thus gets a 2.5.
2. Anamul Haque – 2
Anamul Haque too like his opening partner failed to have any sort of impact with the bat and returned for 5 off 14 balls. He thus gets a 2.
3. Shakib Al Hasan – 7
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan had an unusual performance against Afghanistan in the match. He was dismissed for just 11 runs, however, he made a valuable contribution with the ball picking up the crucial wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz while conceding just 13 runs in his 4 overs. He gets a 7.
4. Mushfiqur Rahim – 3
Mushfiqur Rahim was another one of those batsmen who had a massively disappointing performance with the bat in the match for Bangladesh. He was dismissals for just 1 and initiated a stumping to remove Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the second innings. He thus gets a 3.
5. Afif Hossain – 3
Afif Hossain played a slow and sluggish inning of 12 runs of 15 balls. His contribution didn’t really hell his side anyways and this he gets a 3.
6. Mahmudullah Riyaz – 5
Mahmudullah held one end of the crease amidst falling wickets. During his innings of 25 off 27 he countered the tough spells of the opposition bowlers. He too however couldn’t continue longer and perished in ultimately against Rashid Khan. He gets a 5.
7. Mosaddek Hossain – 8
Mosaddek Hossain was the peak of the batters for his side in the match. He scored a fantastic 48 off 31 and remained not out till the end. Had it not been for him, Bangladesh would not have been able to even reach a respectable total. He thus gets an 8.
8. Mahedi Hasan – 6.5
Mahedi Hasan played a fair enough hand with the bat towards the later stages of the innings. He also bowled good enough spells with the ball in hand conceding 26 runs in his quota of 4 overs. He gets a 6.
9. Mohammed Saifuddin – 4.5
Saifuddin didn’t have any valuable contribution to make to his team’s performance in the match. He conceded 27 runs in his two overs during the game while picking up a wicket. He gets a 5.
10. Taskin Ahmed – 5
Taskin Ahmed bowled fairly good wickets but wasn’t able to pick a single wicket as was needed for his team to win the match. He thus gets a 5.
11. Mustafizur Rahman – 4
Mustafizur Rahman too failed to pick up any wicket in the match and was hit for 30 runs in his four overs. He thus gets a 4.
