SA20 league 2023 Schedule Announced, South Africa T20 League Fixture: Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday, November 8th released the complete schedule for the SA20 league 2023. MI Cape Town will face Paarl Royals in the tournament opener at Cape Town, while Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium will host the summit clash on February 11, 2023.
The 33 matches T20 tournament will run from January 10 to February 11, 2023. The SA20 league will be halted midway from January 25 to February 1 to complete South Africa’s international commitments with England. The two sides (England and South Africa) will play three-match ODI series between 25 January to February 1, 2023.
The step that seems rather unusual, has been taken to maximise players’ availability throughout the tournament. This way, England’s players will also be available for the entire tournament.
All six teams in the SA20 league will play five home and as many away matches in their run. Notably, the fixtures scheduled at Cape Town, Paarl and Gqeberha will be completed first, so that these aforementioned venues can be further prepared for the Women’s T20 World Cup which will be held from February 10 to 26.
“Fans will be able to watch the best local and international T20 stars live in action at prime viewing times for the afternoon and evening matches,” Graeme Smith, SA20 league commissioner, said. “This is also an ideal broadcasting slot, ensuring viewers around the world can also keep up with the enthralling entertainment.”
