KL Rahul backs Bazball, promises to play aggressive cricket against Bangladesh : Team India’s stand-in skipper, KL Rahul is in awe of the brand of cricket England has played, which is generally called Bazball, in the recent past and has promised to play good fierce cricket in the upcoming test series. England’s ultra-aggressive batting approach, especially in test cricket, has been the epicentre of all discussions and debates.
The India vs Bangladesh two-match test series will commence on 14th December at Chattogram. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma would miss the opening match against Bangladesh after suffering a finger dislocation injury in the 2nd ODI.
While addressing the media conference, KL Rahul admitted that although test cricket is played for five days and every day brings a different set of challenges, the team would stick to aggressive cricket with positive intent throughout.
“The game is played over five days so it is important to break it down to smaller targets. In every session, the demands would be different but one thing is sure that you are going to see a lot of aggressive cricket from our side,” said Rahul during a media conference.
“We won’t go in with any set mindset… At least for us we will go there and try to be aggressive and brave, try and get a result,” he added.
Often, the aggressive approach in cricket is associated with reckless cricket, but Rahul reckons as long as the job is done for the team, it doesn’t matter how it came.

“As cricketers, I don’t think it is reckless cricket. They have certain mindset, they thought about it, they back their players and the players are doing the job for the team, so it doesn’t matter how you have done it.”
The 30-year-old opener believes that the game of cricket is changing and there is no set way of playing it. He further said that he always liked being aggressive and taking the game head-on in the traditional format.
“To watch these two matches between England and Pakistan has really been interesting. I am really enjoying watching Test cricket being played like that, a very fearless, taking the game on.”
India needs to win the two-match test series against Bangladesh in order to remain in the race for the World Test Championship final. As of now, team India stands in the fourth position in the WTC ranking with 52.08 percentage points.
