The destructive batter celebrated his century in his trademark celebration style, resting his helmet on the handle of the bat. India won the toss and opted to field first with overcast conditions on the fray. It was expected that the ball would do some talking trouble the batters, especially with the cloud over up. However, that wasn't the case, as conditions didn't favour pacers as was expected at the start of the play. 
India's bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah, at the start, was visibly unhappy with the ball that was provided to them. However, it was quite evident why they were unhappy as there wasn't any big movement on the pitch, especially with grass there and overcast conditions. 
This made Jasprit Bumrah lose his cool as well during the fifth over of the match. The fast bowler attempted to alter his length and tried moving the ball. However, nothing was on offer, and the pacer, too, realised that there was no swing on offer, irrespective of the area where he hit the deck.

As concerns over India's pace bowling unit continue in the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, veteran Mohammed Shami's inclusion in the squad has not been finalised yet. Active talks are going for making the pacer play in the final two Test-Matches of the five-match series. 
But, the BCCI is not fully confident about the fitness levels of the 34-year-old seamer. When asked whether there are any chances of Shami getting recalled to the Indian squad for the remaining contests versus Australia, Rohit Sharma didn't specify whether the player would join the squad or not. 
The Indian skipper's response was simply that all doors open for Shami to make his much-awaited return to the National setup. The demand for the 34-year-old's inclusion in the squad came after the Men in Blue's poor performance in the Adelaide Pink-Ball Test-Match.
In Adelaide, where the Australian trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland destroyed the Indian Cricket Team with the ball, only Jasprit Bumrah proved to be lone positive for the Rohit Sharma-led team. The duo of Suraj and Harshit Rana didn't have a good game and underperformed. 
Captain Rohit Sharma had earlier confirmed that Shami has suffered a fresh knee injury while playing for Bengal in the ongoing 2024 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Sports Tak, it is learned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has accepted the Hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The global body has accepted the demands of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play the tournament in the two-nation formula. 
It is learned that India games will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Along with this, one semi-final and final will be played in a Gulf country, while the rest of the games are all set to take place in Pakistan, which is the host of the tournament. 
To accept the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has kept a few demands, with the major one being they wanted all the ICC tournaments to be played in a Hybrid model till the next cycle as they claimed that they won't travel to India if they cannot visit Pakistan.

However, to end the feud between BCCI and PCB, ICC has accepted the demand and it is learned that Pakistan won't be travelling to India for the T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also demanded an extra share in the revenue. However, the ICC won't be giving them compensation, but they will be given to host the ICC Women's tournament after 2027, as per the reports by the Journalist Vikrant Gupta. 
BCCI and PCB were involved in a massive tussle over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian team didn't agree to visit Pakistan for the tournament, but the PCB, too, didn't agree to host the event outside Pakistan and were pretty strong on their stance. 
However, ICC acted as a mediator and proposed PCB as the hybrid model. The governing body kept some demands. Although BCCI took some time to accept, they finally agreed, and now the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be played in a Hybrid model. 
With the decision related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 reaching a conclusion, it is expected that the schedule of the tournament will be announced soon.

It's always in the back of your mind as a bit of a Plan B, or if it's looking really uncomfortable and likely to take wickets, maybe it comes with Plan A for some of the batters. So I'm sure we'll give it a shot at some point this Test."</div>

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were dismissed against swing while other Indian batters were bounced out. The Australian captain also hinted about the pitch for the third test.</div>
