Abdul Samad plays an outrageous scoop shot against Arshdeep Singh in LSG vs PBKS (Watch Video)

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Abdul Samad played a decent cameo for his team in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The 13th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is taking place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Abdul Samad, who has looked in magnificent touch in IPL 2025, played a brilliant innings for his team against Punjab Kings. He walked out to bat at seven and played a brutal cameo to take his team to a total of over 170, which at one stage looked impossible.

Abdul Samad hit Punjab Kings bowlers all over the park and the highlight of his innings was an outrageous scoop shot that he hit against Arshdeep Singh. This made me stand and applaud him for his heroics.

On the 4th ball of the 18th over, Arshdeep Singh bowled a low full toss outside off, to which Abdul Samad came up with the unique shot. The batter managed to scoop it over the keeper as the ball raced away for four.Even before that ball, Abdul Samad came had hit Arshdeep Singh for a six. He also hit another four in the same over:

However, Arshdeep Singh had a last laugh as he removed Abdul Samad in the last over. The Lucknow Super Giants batter ended with an innings of 27 runs off 12 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 225 and also hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

Arshdeep Singh, who returned with the figures of 3/43, talked about the wicket at Ekana Stadium, saying that the surface was providing help to seam bowlers. He also expressed his confidence in batters to chase the target. He said:

“I mean that was pretty average on a wicket which was providing help to seam bowlers. In the powerplay, it was stopping a bit and movement was also there, we could have hit the lengths more.

The batters don’t trust their defence much, they swing hard so I had two slips and a deep cover, just in case he swings and gets an edge, so I was attacking with two slips. I feel it’s a good total, we have to bat well to chase it down.”
