IPL 2021: Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan reveals he wants to play under MS Dhoni.

IPL 2021: Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan in his recent conversation with Cricast revealed that although he has played under so many world class skippers in several T20 leagues around the world, he has a desire to play under former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

Khan is arguably the best spinner in the modern era and has played massive T20 leagues including IPL, PSL and Big Bash League.

“I have a dream that I play under MS Dhoni. Because the experience playing with him, under him is very important. For a bowler, the role of wicketkeeper is very important and I don’t think there is anyone better than him to explain you things,” Rashid Khan told YouTube show Cricast.

The spinner said that MS Dhoni gives genuine advice and that has worked for me in the past. After one of the games between CSK and SRH, MS told me to be careful while putting my efforts into the fielding.

“Every time after our matches, the discussions that I have with him has helped me. Last time he told me ‘You have to be careful while fielding, you slide, throw the ball when it is not necessary, you get aggressive. Because there is only one Rashid and people want to see you more, what will happen if you get injured? Keep this in mind, I tell (Ravindra) Jadeja the same thing,’” Rashid Khan said.

The 22 years old cricketer is in awe of India’s limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma’s scintillating batting performances. Rashid agrees that Rohit has that extra second for every ball which makes it easier for him to hit that over the fence.

“I agree he has more time. He has got a lot of time. I have seen very few players who have a lot of time. It is natural for some players to have more time. The way he pulls even if it is 145 plus or 150 kmph, the way he hits, it seems the ball is 125 or 130 kmph. He has got great time. He doesn’t hit too many powerful shots. He believes in his timing,” Rashid Khan said.
